About Our ClassWhen your child comes to my class for EC (Exceptional Children's) services, he or she receives instruction in the area in which they qualify for. I teach several different scientifically research based programs that are designed to deliver direct instruction in reading or math. I also incorporate writing, behavior and social skills lessons into our time together.
The reading programs include SRA: Reading Mastery, Corrective Reading, Saxon Phonics, Recipe for Reading and multiple other interventions that I incorporate within reading instruction. In math, Lenoir County Schools is purchasing Number Worlds for the 2015-16 school year. I am excited to start a new curriculum with my math students. In the beginning of the year, we will work on hands-on word problems and calculation drills. Technology is a HUGE part of my classroom. Students bring their iPads daily to my class. I would like them to have earbuds or headphones to use this year. I do not ask for supplies, but these are necessary. I use ebackpack to differentiate student assignments based on different IEP (individualized education plan) goals and each students' educational needs. |
